William Jacob Himmelright was born on August 4, 1811 at Pennsylvania. He married Amanda Royal (1st wife) on December 26, 1836 at Butler Co. Ohio. Amanda Royal was the daughter of Thomas Royal and Catharine Weidner. William Jacob Himmelright and his sibling Samuel Francis Himmelright purchased land at Madison Twp. Ohio on April 2, 1838 from Jacob Flickuiger, fourteen acres for 1200.00 (Section 34, Twp 3, Range 4) On May 1, 1841 William J. Himmelright and Samuel Francis Himmelright sold this land to William Thurston of Butler Co. On October 23, 1846 William J. Himmelright purchased land at Monroe Twp, Darke Co. Ohio from Thomas Royal, Amanda's father. On April 29, 1851 William Jacob Himmelright and Amanda Royal sold this land at Monroe Twp, Darke Co. Ohio. On October 28, 1852 William Jacob Himmelright married Mulvina Day , daughter of John M. Day and Ann Nancy Worthington, at Fountain Co. Indiana. He died on Febrary 26, 1900 at Sumner, Dawson Co. Nebraska, at age 88, He is buried at Miller Cemetery, Dawson, Co. Nebraska. William Jacob's Obit- taken from Miller Gazette- May 1900 Following Obituary of Father Himmelright was handed too late for last week's Gazette. William J. Himmelright was born August 4, 1811, died February 26th, 1900, aged eighty-eight years, six months, and twenty one days. Father Himmelright united with the M.E. Church when 7 years old, lived a true christian, true to the first resolution unto death. The service was held as his late residence, Rev. A. Gilson officiated after which the remains were interred in the Miller Cemetery. He leaves an aged widow and twelve grown children who survive him and mourn his departure. |
